چکیده

Abstract Lead (Pb) toxicity is a major problem in agricultural soil that negatively affects plant growth and development. Glycine betaine (GB) an effective compatible solute resists abiotic stress plays important role to mitigate various stresses. The present study the first of its kind on application GB Pb barley cultivars. To elucidate mitigating three concentrations (15 mM, 25 35 mM) two varieties (BH-959 BH-946) with without foliar (2 was examined. found increasing concentration significantly ( p < 0.05) reduced level primary metabolites viz. photosynthetic pigments, protein, carbohydrates both cultivars upto 42.4%, 38.4% 39% respectively. However malondialdehyde content, proline antioxidant enzyme activity (SOD, CAT, POX) were increased as compared control treatment 83.4%, 83.2% 51% In contrast, led improved physio-biochemical parameters well (53%) oxidative along content (14.42%) varieties. An increment these revealed exogenous improves (up plants use may be beneficial for crops susceptible improve yield.

Jasmonic Acid Modulates the Physio-Biochemical Attributes, Antioxidant Enzyme Activity, and Gene Expression in Glycine max under Nickel Toxicity

In present study, we evaluated the effects of Jasmonic acid (JA) on physio-biochemical attributes, antioxidant enzyme activity, and gene expression in soybean (Glycine max L.) plants subjected to nickel (Ni) stress. Ni stress decreases the shoot and root length and chlorophyll content by 37.23, 38.31, and 39.21%, respectively, over the control. However, application of JA was found to improve th...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Foliar Application of Anti-frost Solution Influences Physiological and Biochemical Parameters in Bougainvillea, Canna and Petunia

Frost is the coating or deposit of ice that may form in cold conditions, usually overnight. If the temperature drops far enough for the plant cells to freeze, non hardy plants will die. Therefore, a research was laid out to study the influence of an anti-frost solution on growth, flowers quality and biochemical parameters of ornamental plants. The anti-frost solution was applied as foliar spray...
